Week 15 Learning by Heart

I chose to "Review my schedule" mainly out of irony because this is my last assignment for this class. I did not follow my schedule and I am not sure what I chose this semester for my schedule. I need to organize my life a little better. Maybe then I will not have to show up to work late to finish assignments. I swear I will lose this job one day. This last year has been very tough and I feel like a completely different person. I used to get anxious being late, do everything possible extra credit-wise for classes, and have a clean apartment. I don't know what happened to that. I never knew that a family member passing could change me entirely. I need to make a lot of changes, not just with my schedule.  Time

Week 15 Tech Tip Canvas Dashboard

I think that my dashboard only shows my classes for this semester by  default  so I never knew that it was possible to have all of my classes showing from all semesters. I already nicknamed my classes and color coordinated them to match my notebooks. I use canvas as much as I use one.ou.edu. I like canvas the most out of all of the online class sources that I have used.  Side Note- another update on my cat. He is making himself at home in my expensive computer chair. I am hoping he does not start scratching it. He looks like he may have hit the lazy stage of the day. Great news.  Cats Cats Cats

Week 15 Growth Mindset Cats Cats Cats

Cat # 1 I chose this cat because it is a tabby cat and I like the saying. My cat, Charlie, looks similar. He is a chubster right now though. I like the idea of embracing uncertainty. My cat is currently using my laptop so scratch himself.  Cat #2  I chose these adorable kittens because they are just the cutest. I agree with the message on the meme. Update: My cat and dog are now chasing each other. My dog has a bad habit of trying to lick my cat's butt and I absolutely hate it. Sorry for the unnecessary information. Cat #3 All of these cat photos are making me want a kitten, but then I think about how much of a handful I have with two dogs and a cat and I change my mind. I like embracing challenges. I tend to choose the more challenging choice when given options. I think I do it just to make my life harder.

Wee 15 Review

This is sad that this will be my last back up and review. I have 8 points left until I am finished with the class and I work in thirty minutes. This assignment will satisfy two of those points. I am doing my best to get it all done. I wish I could have put more time into this class, but I just hope I end with a C at this point. It was a very busy and stressful semester. I chose this graphic because I do not use my imagination as much as I would like to. I want to be a kid again sometimes to relive the mindset that a banana could be an orange if I wanted it to be. I watched "The One Moment" video because it was the last one posted. It was absolutely breathtaking with great music. I love slo-mo videos. Imagination

Famous Last Words Week 15

Finally, I have reached the end. It only took two semesters, but I did it. I am a person who is hard on myself, so I know I could have done better, but I am glad I made it to the end. I am sorry for waiting until the morning. I was just so tired last night. I have one final left on Monday and then I am done. I took a Marketing Research and Social Media Marketing exam this week. I think that I got an A and B in those classes for a final grade. I  have to  keep a 2.5 GPA or higher in my major classes to graduate in the fall. I was also advised on Monday, so I am enrolled for the fall and a spring session course. If I didn't get into the spring  session  then I would have to take 18 hours in the fall to graduate and that would not be easy. I am so thankful for this class and the break it gave me from my other classes this semester. It is a nice breath of fresh air. If   you keep up with the work weekly or get ahead, this class is fun and easily do-able. I appreciat...

Extra Reading Notes: Russian Fairy Tales Part A

I really enjoyed reading these. The Dead Mother took a turn that I did not expect. I am sad that I did not read these sooner to write a story about it, but that's what procrastination and finals look like right now. The Dead Mother was creepy and awesome. I could have made that Dude's wife in my story. I did not expect the ending even with the title. I am not sure what I expected. The Treasure story surprised me. The pope was very greedy and rude. I couldn't believe that he wouldn't help an old man bury his old woman. I did not expect the goatskin to cling to the priest because of his greediness. I enjoyed the story though. Week 15 Story: The Epic Battle

Dude grew up on a small farm outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He spent a large portion of his teenage years helping and supporting his family by getting a part-time job while going to school. His father, Joseph, had been gone for many years on business. Joseph was a very important man who was needed in almost every continent for his special skills in marketing. Dude had to accept this at a young age.   One day Joseph returned to his family out of the blue with some disappointing news. Joseph met a mermaid who was going to kill him unless he made a deal with her. She made him promise to give up who he had forgotten about while on his business trip. Unfortunately for Dude, the only thing that Joseph thought about on his trip was his wife and business. Dude had to leave and meet up with the mermaid. Joseph gave Dude directions to the ocean where he made the deal.   Dude set out the next day on his tractor. This was going to be a long journey to the ocean all the way in Califor...

Reading Notes Part B: Czech

I chose the Czech stories because they are high in the fantasy aspect and have quite a bit of irony in them. In "The Man Who Met Misery", there are  many  directions I could go with my own retelling  just  from this one story. I love the fact that there is an ogre in the  story. I also enjoy the ring calling out to the ogre to tell him where Francis was. Indeed, this young man met misery, which Is a play on words making you believe that it is a human. "Nine at a Blow" could be an interesting twist to my project story. I am excited to get started.   Czech

Reading Notes Part B: Canterbury Tales

I have narrowed my choices for the direction of the story this week. The story about the priest without a church could be useful. I could use this story to make Dude listen to an inanimate object and do interesting things. I will finalize the direction of my story and use one of the ideas. The Chaucer Story Book by Eva March Tappan.  Read Here The Chaucer Story Book

Reading Notes Part A: Canterbury Tales

I chose the Canterbury Tales unit because I have heard of them many times, but I have yet to read many. I think it is interesting that it is the pilgrims telling the stories. I enjoyed the story about love and magic. I think that will go highly with my theme in my portfolio. I could also use the parable of death or put in even more of the comical aspects of the original stories. There are so many options here and it is always hard to narrow down just one. I will try to narrow it down in Part B of the reading.    Eva March Tappan's The Chaucer Story Book  Read Here The Chaucer Story Book

Reading Notes Part B: Faerie Queen

I had a difficult time choosing a story this week for a different reason than normal. There were too many stories that I remember as a child that I wanted to use. I missed Part A and will be writing about it in the extra credit reading for this week. I wrote about Beowulf a small amount for my project last semester before I had to withdraw, so I wanted to take a different route this semester. I chose the Faerie Queen: Britomart unit because it has so many different angles that I could use for my Lebowski-esque stories. I like the idea of Dude having a magic aspect to his personality and attributes. He is a very optimistic character in the movie and I want to bring that over in the story I write this week. I could do so many things with a magic mirror especially if I used events from the movie. I am excited. I read Faerie Queen- Britomart Unit. Stories from the Faerie Queene by Mary Macleod. You can read the story here. Faerie Queen

Week 11 EC: Famous Last Words

Me in a Nutshell I call my morning self "Delores." I have not met anyone under the age of 60 with that name, so I call her my grumpy old lady self. I do not trust her. She snoozes/turns off alarms and is very mean when woken up. I often do not remember what she says or does. Crazy right? Your reading for this week I had a tough time picking a story. I think I read at least five first chapters before I chose one that I could actually do something with. I normally gage the reading by the first page and sometimes it fails me. I tend to go for the character names that I can actually pronounce.  Your best writing for this week I do not have to write much in other classes, but I am currently using the extra credit options to put off a Purchasing and Buying Behavior study session, so I am pleased. I need to do these anyway. I have learned that I get some of my best work done when I am procrastinating one class with another or doing assignments due later in the week an...

Week 11 EC: Back up and Review

Part One: Done Part Two: I checked my progress in the class. I am not too happy about it, but I will get more extra credit done in order to make up for it. :) Part Three: I am included in the project stack. Sweet! I follow dharma. Fighting for the meek is in my blood. I do not hate people. Forgiveness is important. Video: I had to watch Conjunction Junction for my video pick. I grew up with it. I am not sure if this college generation still watched it or not. I would always have to watch Schoolhouse Rock videos when it rained outside or if we had a substitute teacher in elementary school. It is sad, but I still do not know all of the words to the Conjunction Junction song. "Out of the frying pan and into the fire." I will have to watch more Schoolhouse Rock videos. I was blessed. Dharma

Week 11 Extra Credit Reading: Dante's Inferno Part A

Link to Image Here Dante's Divine Comedy, translated by Tony Kline  Link Here Dante and Virgil   This first section or chapter of the story was hard to follow for me. I will see if it gets better as I continue. There were some cool parts.   T he monsters   T he drama of it all   S eeing ancient spirits in pain   The Gate of Hell and Charon   N o cowards!   No uncertainty!   B eautiful illustration by William Blake that I will be using for my post   "stained, eternally, like sand  spiral ing  in a whirlwind."-- LIKEEEE    'I will tell you, briefly.
