Week 11 EC: Famous Last Words

Me in a Nutshell
I call my morning self "Delores." I have not met anyone under the age of 60 with that name, so I call her my grumpy old lady self. I do not trust her. She snoozes/turns off alarms and is very mean when woken up. I often do not remember what she says or does. Crazy right?

Your reading for this week

  • I had a tough time picking a story. I think I read at least five first chapters before I chose one that I could actually do something with. I normally gage the reading by the first page and sometimes it fails me. I tend to go for the character names that I can actually pronounce.
Your best writing for this week
  • I do not have to write much in other classes, but I am currently using the extra credit options to put off a Purchasing and Buying Behavior study session, so I am pleased. I need to do these anyway. I have learned that I get some of my best work done when I am procrastinating one class with another or doing assignments due later in the week and going backward. I am a strange bird.
Other people's writing
  • I read some interesting stories. Compared to other weeks, nothing really stood out to me. It is all great writing and I am not putting any of it down, but I have an interesting taste in stories. I would like to try a screenplay type writing structure, but I imagine it could be difficult. I have seen one or two going through my fellow student's projects.
Your other classes
  • Let's just say I have a wide range of grades right now. I have only had two grades in one of my classes and the majority of the students, including me, failed the first exam. You would think he might curve the grades.... Nope.
Outside of school
  • I worked a good amount due to it being Mom's Weekend for the greek life at our school. I am a server and I had a lot of families and alcohol around me all weekend. Moms can get crazy. I also was able to serve some medieval fair patrons and I loved the costumes.
Next week
  • My hopes are that I do all of the extra credit for week 12 the way I am doing week 11's currently. I work more hours this week than normal so we will see. Beyond school, I plan on napping. That is all outside of showering, eating, and working. Lots of NAPPPSSSSS.

Week 11 Story: Dude's Bowling Ball

Dude "Well, that's just your opinion, man," replied Dude to Jesus.  Jesus was Dude's arch-nemesis. Jesus never believed in Dude's crazy outlandish ideas. Dude was an open-minded individual, who believed that anything was possible, and Jesus could not stretch his imagination that far. Jesus said, "There is no way that your bowling ball can fall through the sky and into that lava mountain or whatever you call it." Dude retorted, "It's a volcano, bro, and I can make it." Dude and Jesus lived among the clouds and this world is all they have known because for as long as they can remember, the sky people have been scared of the volcano land down below. Dude was different and he believed in magic and bowling. He thought that his bowling ball had magic powers. Walter, his friend, always had Dude's back and let's just say he was the muscle of the two knuckleheads. Walter had a little bit of a temper, so when ...
