Time Strategies

Time management is something I have always struggled with. I spend so much time organizing calendars and writing to do lists that I do not actually follow through with my desired tasks. Just starting with the first  article , I have learned so much. Creating the right environment and not focusing on small tasks before they add up are two things I struggle with. I need to implement the  article  involving the four questions. If I were to ask myself these questions daily, my day-to-day would be more productive and I believe that I would be less stressed. During the school semester, I never feel like I have free time. Most of the problem is because I procrastinate work. I spend more time thinking of what I have to do instead of doing it, which brings me to the next  article  that I am guilty of. This article is called  The Myth of Too Busy.  I try not to use the word busy because someone should never be too busy to spare time for those they...

Technology...... Yada Yada Yada

I have familiar with many of these websites now due to starting this class last semester. I am a fan of blogger. I am a lover of online classes. If I can do everything I need to for a class at home in my PJ's you can sign me up. The skill I need to work on this semester is getting all of the homework to the blog in the first place. I am trying to do better. I am excited about the semester. Tech meme

All the Assignments...

I am intrigued by the stories we get to write about. I love reading stories from different parts of the world. I am very excited for the extra credit and I know making time for the extra credit is difficult, but worth it. I love when a professor takes the time to set up their class in such a unique way. It really shows that they love what they do and I cannot be more appreciative. I am ready to give this class my full attention. Too Tired to Function

Growth Mindset, "Not Yet"

Growth Mindset The Growth Mindset.   I have never heard of the growth mindset or Carol Dweck until now. I can understand why people support her ideas and learning tools. These videos bring a whole new world to kids and some adults who have seen learning or work one way their whole life. She thinks outside of the box and beyond. I would love to take what I have learned from these videos and apply it to the subjects that I am struggling with. If we all keep working at a certain task or subject, I believe that we can all have the "not yet" perspective on life. I was diagnosed with ADD about a year and a half ago. Before transferring to OU, classes were not that difficult for me at previous colleges. When I came to OU, I realized that I do not understand more difficult concepts as fast as everyone else. My short term memory is also lacking and memorization can be tough. But when I look at subjects with a more positive view than the alternative, I tend to ...
My name is Tabitha Carroll. I normally go by Tabi. My major is now marketing. I switched majors this semester from accounting. I have an associates degree in accounting, Spanish, and psychology. I would say that the most interesting thing about my major is that I get to study people and their behaviors. I have always been somewhat of a people watcher, not in a creepy way, but just fascinated by interactions some people have. I have learned quite a bit about people by doing it. I would have to say that this class last semester was my favorite. I did not get to finish due to a close family member passing away, but I enjoyed what I was able to do. I worked the majority of my break at O’Connell’s, where I still work now, so I did not get to do much over the break. IZombie, Supernatural, Dexter, The Punisher, and This is Us are just a few of my favorite TV shows. Sleeping with Other People is the best movie I have seen recently. I would not judge the movie by its name. It is actually roman...

Storybook Favorites

https://sites.google.com/site/spookyirishghoststories/the-ghost-s-tale Spooky Irish Ghost Stories. I have always been a fan of the supernatural and horror stories, so this story drew my attention right away. I loved the pictures that were used in each of the stories. I liked the layout. It was just overall a very good project. There were minor grammatical error, but I looked past them. I liked the suspense in the introduction and how it made you want to continue reading. I liked the line, “I swear on my favorite toys this is true.”  Johnny’s Tale  was comical and entertaining.  https://sites.google.com/site/jonwilliamsstorybook/introduction Ghostly Stories. This story was unique. I liked how he included Oklahoma in his project and that he was the tour guide in the story. The creativity was just amazing. There is a story called Skirvin Hotel caught my eye because I have recently attended a wedding there. I was very interested to se...

My Favorite Place- The Lake

When I was younger, I would visit the lake with my family. It was a way to get away from all responsibilities, technology, and the normal everyday life. Of course, when I was too young for responsibilities, it was just a way to have fun. I have always loved swimming, especially when the water was calm in the morning when no one was out on boats or jet skis. I learned to swim at a young age and ended up being a lifeguard during some of my college years. The Lake Something about the water has become my escape when life gets tough. In the fall, my grandfather got diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. One night it became too much for me to handle, someone who has been there for me throughout the summer took me to the lake late at night after work. With all of my normal everyday clothes, I dove into the water and swam as far as I could. It had been so long since I had the chance to go to the lake. It let me get away even if it was only for a small amount of time. Life felt so m...
